With this tool, you can measure the piston ring gap more quickly and accurately and no longer have to guess. The flanged design allows the piston ring to fit squarely into the cylinder bore every time. This is the first tool designed to check oil ring clearances using a cut-out function. Simply fit any ring, the top, 2nd or oil scraper rings onto the tool. Install the tool in a cylinder bore and then view the ring gap in the measurement slot. Use a feeler gauge to measure the end gap. Each side of the tool is designed to check standard size piston rings.
