Harley-Davidson lighters from the cult brand Zippo have been produced unchanged in Bradford, Pennsylvania, since 1933. However, the Zippo has its roots in the heart of Europe, as inventor George Grand Blaisdell took the Austrian brand Hurricane as a model and improved the design to create the now world-famous version of the Zippo gasoline lighter.
Many models have become coveted collector's items over the years and problems with the supply of spare parts are an unknown concept at Zippo.
Of course, Zippo has offered a lifetime guarantee since the first lighter was sold, although for legal reasons in Germany this has to be officially reduced to just 30 years.
