Our floating brake disc provides better deceleration for large wheel diameters. Brake ring and hub are flexibly connected by bushings and thus the friction ring can expand without passing on its deformation to the rest of the disc. Floating brake discs can cause a higher noise level than rigid brake discs. This is not a reason for complaint. We therefore recommend Ferodo EcoFriction brake pads (#584-2079EF, for stock calipers) and TRW SDP978 (#1721-0679, for Brembo radial calipers) to go with our floated brake discs.
